Ho Ren Hua, W’07, is CEO of Thai Wah Public Company Ltd., responsible for developing the company’s long-term vision as a leading starch and consumer foods company in Southeast Asia. Since its founding in 1947, Thai Wah has been a pioneer in the starch and food industry; it is now expanding its footprint to Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, and China. The company currently has more than 10 operations across four countries, driven by its commitment to portfolio innovation and operational excellence.

From 2010 to 2015, Mr. Ho was executive director and country head China for Banyan Tree Holdings, playing a leadership role in growing its regional headquarters in Shanghai and helping the brand establish its position as the leading luxury hospitality brand in China. Earlier in his career, he worked with the global consultancy Bain & Company in its New York, Hong Kong, and China offices, harnessing his experience in private equity, organizational structure and strategy.
Mr. Ho serves as a mentor to the Kairos ASEAN society and is actively involved in entrepreneurship and venture capital. He has served on the boards of United Nations Women Singapore and Wharton China Alumni Club and is a captain in the Singapore Armed Forces.

In 2017, in recognition of Thai Wah Group’s sustainability and community efforts across the region, Mr. Ho was awarded the “Outstanding Leader in Asia” award at the Fourth Asia Corporate Excellence and Sustainability Awards, held in Singapore. He has a BS in economics (with honors) from Wharton and is a graduate of the AMP program from CEIBS, China’s leading business school.
